Pico De Gallo

With jalapenos in from Greenway Gardens, cilantro in from Hagen Homestead, and heirloom tomatoes from Element Gardens, we know what we’re making this week to snack on, and it just so happens to be our favorite thing to eat, period! Not only is this an easy recipe to make, it’s also a super quick thing to make when you’re low on time but hungry like the wolf.

Pico De Gallo is a delicious snack made from fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and lime juice. You can use it as a dip, a topping for tacos, or add it to a salad. It is so simple to make and comes together in only a few minutes. This recipe is great to have on hand all summer long when you can find fresh tomatoes at the farmers market.

When making this recipe be sure to cut the red onion pieces small enough or they may become overwhelming. This recipe is a good place to start but I encourage you to make your pice de gallo to taste. Some may prefer more lime juice while other like more cilantro. Eventually you will find your perfect balance.
